[To all loot council members]
Do not know if any of you do this but I found it to be less of a mess if you create a separate chat window for whispers. For me it helps a ton because of DPS meter spam and looting of emblems.

Recently there have been issues with whispers not going through and such. Its a mistake that happens, but its a mistake that can be reduced. Scrolling through all the chat and spam it can he hard to spot the right whispers.

Whisper in game if need help setting one up.

Make sure to say if its for Main spec or Off spec.

Link what you are putting in for just so we know its the right item and be sure to link the item you are planning to replace. Any other info like; side grade, pass to clothy, offspec only if to be DE'd will really help make the decision process easier/faster also.

However, be.impa also lets a registered user build a list of all toons in the Guild of a class (hunter, shaman,...) and rates their gear. It shows what gear, gems and enchants each toon has or doesn't have. It shows build type and a quick link to their build.

Lists can also be created by rank or to include all members.

By selecting more than one class build lists by gear type can be created, for example, list of all characters in the Guild that wear leather and/or all toons that wear mail.

The list is a little slow to build and only reflects what the toon had on last time it was cached in the Armory. The biggest down side is that you may be looking at their PvP not their PvE gear. But that is usually obvious. You can force an armory update but I am not sure how useful that is.

Using this site we could build lists for all gear types or even dynamically build them during a raid by weapon type.

It looks like a tool with potential but would probably need a slight change in our process to use efficiently. It would be faster to use if each loot council member worked primarily with gear of a certain type (leather, mail, plate, or cloth). That way each council member would have a smaller list and have it already processed and available to view whenever a question arose.

Is it really easier that just looking at each guild member in the Raid? I can sort by Character, Class, Boss, Date, Tier 7.5 Items, Mainspec or offspec and Item slot.
Also a feature I will be using a lot is that I keep a running total of how many Mainspec items you have recieved and have a special column where I can sort to everyone's most recent Mainspec upgrade (and what number loot it is for you) and compare the dates of everyone on the list by just that item.
I think this sheet will help in some of the loot council discussions when we are discussing "when did that person last get gear" or "has that person been overlooked" or "hasn't that person been getting a lot lately" ... Rather than make Loughlin look through his sheets one person at a time - I think i can get faster answers this way. The sheet records offspec gear in addition to the mainspec gear but only keeps a running total of the Mainspec pieces because I strongly believe that there should be NO penalty for offspec items, especially when the loot council encourages people to take items even if they have little use for them to avoid a dissenchant.

Some differences
All tanks and healers that where present will all receive 5 points each
Receiving loot for main spec you will lose 2 points
Receiving loot for main spec you will lose 1 point

This way mostly all the healers and tanks will stay in front of the DPS, points wise.
Therefore usually receive gear (tier) over DPS first.

Just want to let everyone know what I will be looking for when deciding Loot, DPS MAINLY. I will be using a point system when giving my input on who should get what.

I know there are certain drops that both DPS or HEALER/TANK can use, that is why there are 4 loot council members :P I am not much of a Healer or Tank so have no clue what goes on in that world. Still thinking of something to use for you guys. :)

DPS
Ever since I have joined the guild I have seen my share of spectacular DPS and not so great DPS come from this guild. I know that we as a guild raid casually, but I believe that we have grown to become a pretty hardcore raiding guild. Nearing the release of the upcoming raids, I believe that DPS will really have to push themselves if they are not. If the difficulties of these new raids will be equal to or even harder then SSC/TK/HYJAL/BT/SWP we need to really start pushing our DPS.

This is not what I am suggesting to be implemented as part of the loot council. This is what I will be using when giving my input into who should receive loot. I will stick with this and will not deviate from this, you have my word.

All DPS who I will be including on my DPS list is anyone who I have seen regularly come into raids as DPS. Those who re-spec to fill in for tanks/healers will all be considered as DPS on my list. My point system will heavily be based on what appears on my recount and what is posted on WowWebStats.

All DPS present will be awarded 3 points each.
Since we have multiple DPS types, the top 5 DPS will be awarded 2 extra points
The next top 5 will be awarded 1 extra point.
You will lose points when you receive gear as well.
Basically it goes something like this:
Top 1-5 DPS/damage receive 5 points each.
Next 5-10 DPS/damage receive 4 points each
DPS present who do not make the list 3 points each
When you recive loot for Main spec, you will lose 2 pts
When you recive loot for Off spec, you will lose 1 pt

When you send your whispers, I will be looking at the list of who whispered and how many pts you have.

For Example:
[Player X]:[Frostmourne]dropped from Arthas, whisper Dardale if you are interested. Main spec first and link your current item.
[From Player 2]:[Frostmourne] main [Warglaive of Azzonoth]
[From Player 5]:[Frostmourne] main [Savage sword of the Beast]
-Looks at DPS list:
Player 1 18 pts
Player 2 17 pts
Player 3 10 pts (slacker)
Player 4 23 pts (Monster)
Player 5 14 pts
...
..
.
Player 2 should receive [Frostmourne]
-Looks at list: -2 pts form Player 2

"But how can I ever get geared if the top players always get gear"
Everyone gives their 100%, at least that is what I expect out of all my guild mates. However there are those who put in that extra 10% to make the raid that much more successful. I feel those players who do push their DPS to the max should be receiving gear more then those who are not as motivated as them.

"But how can my Blues compete with their Purples"
There are many crafted weapons/gear that can be farmed/bought/rep grind for. Heroic gear is quite nice sometimes better for raid starting gear.

I know this may not seem fair to those that just do not have the gear or time to compete with those that are constantly at the top. Just remember topping the DPS charts does not always come down to gear, it has a lot to do with player skill, knowing your class, and knowing when and where to use your abilities. Those that spend more time getting gear deserves better gear.

Just to get my point system going I will be looking at the past few raids inputting points based on WowWebStats and removing points based on previous loot received.
